I will be monitoring this situation very closely, and I am urging that a thorough and transparent investigation be carried out.  I ask that we all remain calm, refrain from violence, and work toward a peaceful conclusion to this tragic incident.  My condolences go out to the family of the gentleman who lost his life tonight.
